The fire department was established in 1969, and operated under the Bella Vista Village Property Owner’s Association. In 1977, the Bella Vista Ambulance Service, Inc. began. After the city was incorporated in 2007, fire operations became a city provided service. Bella Vista continued to grow, and soon the BV Ambulance Service was dissolved (in 2012), and the city took on full operation of the EMS department as well.
Today, the city operates three fire stations, which are manned 24 hours per day, seven days per week by full-time firefighters. Station No. 1 is located at Town Center, Station No. 2 is on the east side near Metfield Clubhouse, Station No. 3 is in the Highlands off Glasgow Road and Station No. 4 is located on Forest Hills Boulevard.
